Rovos Rail Pretoria to Durban Itinerary:

DAY 1: PRETORIA
Please check in at least 1 hour before departure.
Depart Rovos Rail Station, Pretoria, travel across the goldfields of the Witwatersrand and the grassland plains of the Highveld to Heidelberg, site of the first Rand gold strike, and Balfour, a small mining town in Mpumalanga.
Lunch is served in the dining cars.
Tea is served in the lounge and observation cars.
Dinner is served in the dining cars as the train continues overnight. Dress: Formal.

DAY 2: NAMBITI & SPIONKOP
Breakfast is served in the dining cars at 05:00.
Enjoy a morning game drive in the Nambiti Private Game Reserve, a malaria-free Big Five reserve set within 20,000 acres of diverse bushveld.
Brunch is served in the dining cars.
In the afternoon, transfer to Spionkop Lodge for a choice of excursions: a guided historical experience of the Battle of Spionkop or a nature drive within the reserve.
Dinner is served in the dining cars as the train continues towards Lions River. Dress: Formal.
En route, pass the site near Chieveley where Winston Churchill was captured during the Anglo-Boer War in 1899.

DAY 3: ARDMORE CERAMICS & DURBAN
Please ensure luggage is ready for collection 15 minutes before arrival and that you have your passport available.
Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10:00 as the train travels through the scenic KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.
Visit the renowned Ardmore Ceramics Gallery, showcasing unique works inspired by nature and Zulu folklore.
Lunch is served in the dining cars while travelling through the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
Arrive at Durban Station, and meet scheduled transfer to The Oyster Box Hotel. Check in and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5: DURBAN| DEPARTURE
Breakfast is served until 10:00. Check out and transfer to King Shaka International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg, marking the end of a memorable rail journey.
