Get Into The Spirit Of Black Friday And Indulge Your #Wanderlust.

If you're looking for a travel bargain then it's time to start preparing and keeping an eye open for that Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal that best suits your travel plans. The term "Black Friday" was actually first associated with the Wall Street financial crisis, not sales shopping.

Two Wall Street financiers bought a significant amount of US gold in the hope of the overall price soaring and in turn being able to sell it for huge profits. But on Friday, September 24 1869, in what became referred to as "Black Friday", the US gold market crashed and the financiers actions left Wall Street barons bankrupt. It was not until in later years that the post Thanksgiving period in the United States became associated with the name. When shops in the US recorded their accounting details by hand, they noted profits in black and losses in red. It is thought that many shops were "in the red" throughout most of the year but they later "went into the black" the day after Thanksgiving, when shoppers bought a significant amount of discounted merchandise, hence the name Black Friday.

Computravel will be showcasing some excellent deals that will knock your socks off! However, since deals can be fleeting, book as soon as you can. Additionally, the rules of budget travel apply: deals are usually in the off-season, require prepayment in full and are non-refundable. If you're really serious about making it happen call or email us well before Black Friday with all your details plus copies of passports and we will provisionally book that special deal for you. Full payment will be required by the following day, Saturday, or some deals may only need to be paid in full by Cyber Monday. It's all about planning ahead and knowing how to recognize a great bargain that offers exceptional value for your spend! So in preparation:

  1. Register for our Black Friday mailer on the Computravel website.
  2. Create a list ahead of time and be specific about what you want, but be flexible on your travel dates.
  3. Set yourself a limit to your budget and put together a rough outline of how much you plan to spend.
