In 1982, the UNESCO declared Havana’s historic city centre as a world cultural heritage site. There is no city in the whole of Latin America with a larger colonial centre. Enjoy a walking tour exploring the old city centre through the alleys and over the squares of Old-Havana: Plaza de Armas, Templete, Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, Plaza de la Catedral, Plaza Vieja, Hemingway’s “Bodeguita“… Also enjoy a panoramic tour passing by the Malecón, Hotel Nacional, Avenida de los Presidentes, Plaza de la Revolución, Quinta Avenida and much more.

Visit of the fortress Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro, the largest defensive fortress build 1589 – 1630.

Mojito in the Hemingway Bar "La Bodeguita del Medio"

The restaurant-bar claims to be the birthplace of the famous "Mojito" and even though this is disputed, it is definitely a good place to enjoy the world-famous drink and take a look at the different signatures, frames and photos, left by customers in the past.

Visit to the Callejón de Hamel

Lunch at the Paladar “La Guarida”

This prominent restaurant with cult-status is hidden in the third floor of an old, seemingly ruinous house (built in 1913) that was owned by a doctor in the past. In 1992, the Oscar-nominated Cuban movie “Fresa y Chocolate“  (strawberry and chocolate) was filmed here. Very good and creative Cuban cuisine. Even the Spanish Queen already dined in this private restaurant.

This afternoon learn more about salsa in a few hours, basic knowledge, salsa presentation, dancing class and a meal followed by a party whereby you can practice what you have just learnt.

Dinner followed by return transfer to hotel.

Situated on the north coast of the island and built around a natural harbour, Havana (La Habana), is one of the most lively and colourful cities in the Caribbean. Much of the city's charm can be found among the narrow, derelict streets packed with crumbling buildings and fascinating people. Every open door and overhanging balcony allows glimpses of rocking chairs and colourful washing accompanied by the strains of music. On the streets Chinese-made bicycles, yellow, egg-shaped coco-taxis and two-humped camello (camel) buses weave among the melee of 1950s Chevy's and Russian Ladas. Havana's nightlife will exhaust even the most seasoned partygoer. After dark nightclubs and bars come alive and the famous rum cocktails flow freely. The city has plenty of cultural entertainment too, and its fair share of monuments, museums and statues. For those travellers needing rest from all this activity, the beaches are only twenty minutes east of the city.
