Itinerary for set departures on 16 Aug, 13 Sep & 18 Oct 2018

Day 1 - Arrival in Hanoi.
Meet & Transfer to the city. Check in hotel. The rest of the day is free. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2 - Hanoi half day sightseeing. (B)
In the morning, take a half-day city tour to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and a walking tour of the Old Quarter. The afternoon is free. (Optional tours are available at additional charge)

Day 3 - Hanoi - Halong (B/L/D)
After breakfast, drive to Halong. Embark for a cruise around Halong Bay. Overnight in Halong.

Day 4 - Halong Bay - Hanoi - Night train to Hue (Brunch)
Morning continue boat cruise around Halong Bay with brunch onboard. In the afternoon, drive back to Hanoi. That evening, transfer to Hanoi railway station for overnight train to Hue.

Day 5 - Hue arrival - half day sightseeing (L)
Arrive in Hue, meet at railway station & transfer to hotel. Lunch with Hue specialties at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Hue Citadel and Royal Antique Museum

Day 6 - Hue - Hoi An (B)
In the morning, take a boat trip on Huong river to Thien Mu pagoda then drive to Hoi An Ancient town. In the afternoon, take a walking tour to explore this World Heritage Site. Highlights include an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien
Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market.

Day 7 - Hoi An - Da Nang - Flight to Ho Chi Minh city (Breakfast)
The morning is free. (Optional tours are available at additional charge) In the afternoon, take a flight to Ho Chi Minh city. Transfer to hotel upon arrival.

Day 8 - Ho chi Minh City half day sight seeing. (B)
Half day tour including Cathedral, GPO, the China town with visit to Binh Tay market and Thien Hau temple. Afternoon is free. (Optional tours are available at additional charge).

Day 9 - Ho Chi Minh City - Departure (B)
Free until transfer to airport for departure.

Hanoi
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. From 1010 until 1802, it was the political centre of an independent Vietnam with a few brief interruptions. The city is located on the right bank of the Red River.

The area around modern Hanoi has been inhabited since at least 3000 BC. One of the first known permanent settlements is the Co Loa citadel founded around 200 BC.

Hanoi experiences the typical climate of northern Vietnam, where summers are hot and humid, and winters are relatively cool and dry. The summer months from May to September receive the majority of rainfall in the year. The winter months from November to March are relatively dry, although spring then often brings light rains.

Hanoi isn’t well known for its nightlife, as the city streets can appear pretty deserted soon after 2200. However, the situation is improving and there are a number of great places in which to pass an evening, although clubs and live music venues are still in short supply.

Hanoi is a shopper’s paradise highlighting the style the Vietnamese possess. The Old Quarter has numerous streets crammed with shops but those of particular interest are on Hang Gai and Hang Bong where there are a number of tailors and silk shops. The hill tribes of the Central Highlands and the north of the country now sell colorful woven bags and clothing in the city. Good souvenirs are marble figurines and vases, ceramics from Bat Trang village, silk paintings and hand-painted greetings cards. Shops are generally open seven days a week from early morning until late evening.
