Limpopo
Limpopo is the northernmost province of South Africa. The capital is Polokwane (Pietersburg). The province was formed from the northern region of the Transvaal province in 1994, and initially named Northern Transvaal. The province borders the countries of Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

The Limpopo is an eco-tourist destination where mountain ranges rise suddenly and dramatically out of bushveld plains. On the slopes of these mountains you will find indigenous forests, placid streams and beautiful waterfalls. Much of the land is unspoilt providing sanctuary to large numbers of game. Game reserves are found in 2 different regions within Limpopo.

Limpopo is in the savanna biome, an area of mixed grassland and trees generally known as bushveld. A summer-rainfall region, the northern and eastern areas are subtropical with hot and humid summers and mist in the mountains. Winter is mild and mostly frost-free.

Rich in natural beauty, culture and wildlife, Limpopo has a thriving tourism industry. In addition to the Kruger National Park, there are 54 provincial reserves and several luxury private game reserves.
