Quick Holiday Overview

Far away from the city lights, in a vast open space where rock formations frame the horizon, there is a place where lovers of nature can experience a truly unique environment. Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve, in the Cederberg region of the Western Cape, South Africa; offers a rustic, remote, back-to-nature retreat that provides for peace, tranquillity and relaxation.

About the Holiday

Visit in summer and enjoy balmy summer days lounging poolside at Kagga Kamma. The Lodge pool is surrounded by incredible sandstone formations and creates some privacy for guests to relax and enjoy a good book.

Hiking is a popular activity at Kagga Kamma whether on foot or cycling on a mountain bike. A number of trails have been created for travellers to traverse; hiking, mountain-biking and a challenging 4x4 route provide a range of means to explore the rough terrain of the Nature Reserve.

Standard Hut Suite: These Units are ideal for families that wish to visit Kagga Kamma and offer spacious accommodation fashioned after traditional Khoisan dwellings. A maximum of two children, under the age of 12, can be accommodated on a double sleeper couch.

Standard Cave Suite: Kagga Kamma offers eight constructed ‘Cave’ Suites which integrate with the natural rock formations found in the region. Each Suite has been created with comfort in mind and provides guests with a quaint terrace from which to enjoy nature. The ‘Cave’ Suites are accessed by stairs.

Premium Cave Suite: The Premium ‘Cave’ Suite is situated at the top furthest right end, allowing for a wide-angle view of fynbos plains and majestic mountains in the background; the perfect nook to enjoy a morning cuppa’ with the fantastic view.

Honeymoon Cave Suite: The Honeymoon ‘Cave’ Suite is our biggest and most romantic unit with a cosy bathtub for bubble bathing. This Suite features an open plan bathroom with bath and every comfort. A towering sandstone rock in front of your room provides for privacy.

Open Air Star Suite: The Star Suite is nestled three kilometres away from the Main Lodge and is set against a large boulder. Couples spend an evening of bliss under the Milky Way alongside a crackling fire, or taking a dip in the natural rock pool a little stroll away.

Open Air Sky Suite: The Sky Suite is slightly further afield and makes for the perfect romantic break. Here, couples can sip bubbly while watching the sun set from the comfort of the private boma or seated in the wood-fired hot tub.

Please note: When guests Guests spend a night in one of the open air suites they are required to be booked into a Cave or Hut Suite and have the option to ‘upgrade’ for the night to an Open Air Room. This is to ensure that guests have a unit to return to, should the weather turn. Couples are guided to the Suite at 17:00 and must make their dinner selection prior to departure, by 14:00, at Reception. Open Air guests then return to the Main Lodge the following morning for breakfast by 10:00. Please take note that there is no electricity at either of the Open Air Suites.

A holiday treat is Kagga Kamma’s fabulous Spa. Therapists are professional and offer a range of massage treatments packaged with African-influenced products. The couples Open Air Treatment room is made available for a romantic spa experience with incredible views over the landscape, throughout the year, as the room has shutters which close the space.
